Discover Beijing on a Cruise to Asia

When you speak of Cruises to Asia, the Far East is always one of the first things that come to mind. The Far East is one of the most exotic and exciting cruise destinations in the world and included in the long list of wonderful itineraries in this region is Beijing, China.
If you have a heart for history, and a love of learning about rich culture and meeting people with great values to their traditions, China is a great choice for cruising to Asia. Beijing, the country’s capital, is an exciting city to visit. Since the city is not located near the ocean, it is not an official cruise ship port of call. But from an ocean going cruise ship, cruise lovers can still tour around Beijing as part of a pre or post-cruise land excursion.
There are also Asian cruise ships that dock overnight in Tianjin and then, they transport the passengers by bus to Beijing for an overnight shore excursion. You won’t be bored and be left with nothing to do when you are in Beijing. Meet friendly citizens who are very anxious to share their loaded culture and history. Visit the famous, historical spots and tourist attractions such as the Great Wall of China, The Summer Palace, The Forbidden City and the Tiananmen Square which are in or near Beijing.
Try and get the chance to visit some of the ancient houses in the city. Beijing was originally surrounded and protected by huge walls, so each Beijing home also had a wall surrounding it. These walled houses were attached to one another forming a labyrinth old city having narrow paths which connected to the maze.
For an entirely different experience, explore the city by foot or by pedi-cab, a transport vehicle which can only be found in certain Asian countries.
